Privacy Policy — SkillenceOS

1. Who we are

SkillenceOS is operated by Perfect Skills (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”). Our registered email is privacy@skillenceos.site. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal data when you use SkillenceOS at skillenceos.site.

2. What data we collect

Account data: Name, email address, phone number (optional), and password hash when you create an account.

Academic and professional data: College name, graduation year, branch, CGPA, work experience, skills — entered by you during onboarding or profile setup.

Assessment data: Your responses, scores, and performance metrics from skill assessments and OA practice sessions.

Resume data: Resume content you upload or generate through the platform.

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, and device/browser type. Collected automatically via server logs and analytics.

Institution data: If your college is enrolled, your institution's TPO may see your readiness scores, assessment completion, and placement outcomes.

3. How we use your data

To generate and display your readiness score and AI study roadmap
To personalise company OA practice to your target companies and gaps
To produce tailored resumes from your verified profile data
To show your profile to companies you apply to through the platform
To allow your institution's placement cell to track cohort readiness (if enrolled via a college)
To send transactional emails (assessment results, placement updates, account alerts)
To improve the platform using aggregated, anonymised usage data

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data storage and security

All data is stored on servers hosted within India via Supabase (hosted on AWS ap-south-1, Mumbai). Data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. Assessment responses and profile data are stored in a Supabase Postgres database with row-level security policies — each user can only access their own records.

5. Your rights under DPDP Act 2023

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Erasure: Request deletion of your account and all associated personal data
Grievance redressal: Raise a complaint about how your data is handled

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@skillenceos.site. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your login session (via Supabase Auth). We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics, if any, use anonymised data without cross-site tracking.

7. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Supabase — authentication, database, and storage
Anthropic / OpenAI — AI generation (assessment content, roadmaps, resume tailoring). Prompts may include your profile data. These providers do not use your data for model training under their API terms.
Razorpay — payment processing for paid plans (we do not store card details)

8. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate data (e.g. assessment score distributions) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
